SJCOC is on a mission to discover the joy of the Lord; strengthening God's kingdom in our amazing community.

We don’t fit in a box and hope you don’t either. Our creed is Christ; holding tightly to salvific issues, but non-salvific issues with an open hand. We believe the church is the body of Christ and that there is too much division over non-salvific issues. With that in mind, we actively pursue relationship and friendship with other local churches.

We believe in the inerrant Word of God and the active working of the Holy Spirit. We know Christ as our Savior – the only son of God who gave Himself to death for us. These beliefs drive us rather than philosophical and/or political issues. That doesn’t mean we ignore other issues, but our focus is on Christ and the power of His resurrection.

As a church of Christ, we are neither traditional nor progressive. This is our church history, but we are very much an interdenominational church family. This is reflected in the congregation and leadership. In fact, our Lead Pastor was raised in the traditional church of Christ but grew in pastoral ministry at a charismatic non-denominational church in Kansas City, and our Worship Pastor developed his passion for worship through Youth with a Mission (YWAM) and has a certification from Bethel’s School of Worship. There are many backgrounds at SJCOC but we reflect only one Kingdom.

Growth at SJCOC can be seen in our young families, children, small groups and in support both for and from our seniors. God is moving in our midst, calling us toward holiness, empowered by His grace. We desire to expand the knowledge of the holy through pastoral, caring relationships to the Saint Joseph community.

We are passionate about reaching the lost, know its mandate, and are committed to discipling our loving church family. SJCOC is eager to learn and see more families welcomed into our body with warm hearts, understanding, and patience.
